With degrees in Education from Western Oregon University and the University of Oregon, Christina worked as a classroom teacher in Lane County for three years before she transitioned into an administrative role. From 2006 to 2011, she served as the principal of a small, rural school near Eugene, Oregon. During her tenure as principal, she and her staff implemented Reading Mastery schoolwide. The implementation was successful and yielded favorable results. In addition to her work in education, Christina has also provided public relations and marketing services for a locally-based company, including branding, website development and customer relations.
