As a teacher, program administrator, consultant, trainer, and co-author, Ann has an extensive background in Direct Instruction. In 1984, after working in a classroom for severely handicapped learners, she began work at the Engelmann-Becker Learning Center in Eugene, Oregon. She was Director of the Learning Center, working closely with Zig Engelmann to help students with extreme behavioral and developmental deficits. During this time, she also worked with Engelmann and co-authored the Reasoning and Writing programs as well as the Reading Mastery Plus Language strand.  In 2010, Ann became a teacher at the Early Education Program, a preschool for developmentally delayed children. Through all this time and continuing now, Ann has been an independent teacher trainer/coach/consultant, with a focus on utilizing DI for behavioral interventions.
