Tami McGrattan is a long-time DI consultant, trainer, and teacher. For 10 years from 1998-2008 and currently from 2013, she has worked as a DI Teacher Coach and Implementation Manager for over 15 states and Guam. She provides in-classroom coaching and instructional support to teachers, including inservice and preservice training, as well as assisting schools and school districts in the implementation of DI programs. Since 1985, Tami has been training others in the curriculum and delivery of Direct Instruction materials. In 1994, she was recognized as the Direct Instruction Teacher of the Year at the yearly Wisconsin Summer Conference on Effective Instruction. She has also spent a considerable amount of time teaching students with learning disabilities using DI programs such as Reading Mastery, Spelling Mastery, Expressive Writing, Reasoning and Writing and Corrective Mathematics.
Tami has an M.A. in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a B.S. in Elementary and Special Education from Edgewood College, Madison.
