After completing her Bachelor of Arts degree (Magna Cum Laude) and earning her Elementary Education and Special Education Credentials from California State University–Stanislaus, Tami began work as a substitute teacher. In 2011, she took on the role of a Special Education Specialist at Stanislaus Union School District in Modesto, California teaching grades K-6. In this role, Tami coached new teachers with student placement, implementation, and data collection of Direct Instruction programs and advocated for continued implementation of Direct Instruction programs in the areas of Reading, Language, Writing, and Math. Her experience also includes leading site and district trainings, creating and managing IEPs, and working with students using Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS).
